Positive Classroom Management Plan
Mrs. Valerio
I would like to take this time to familiarize you with some of the policies the students and I have developed. Our management plan reads as follows: I will: (1) Follow all rules of conduct. (2) Follow all teacher directives. (3) Speak quietly. (4) Show respect for others, the community, and myself. (4) Exhibit honesty, kindness, responsibility, self-discipline, and trust in all situations. This classroom management policy has been implemented to ensure a successful, safe, and fun learning environment for all students. The students and I have discussed the importance of classroom expectations.
1. Students that demonstrate positive social behavior will earn stars on the student star chart. Once they have attained the necessary number of stars they may select a reward, i.e., lunch in the classroom on Friday, treasure box, etc.
2. To further encourage student success with management a positive incentive program will be followed. Students will work cooperatively in a group to earn tokens. Tokens are earned each time the entire group meets the stated objective. Once the container is full the group will earn a reward, i.e., extra computer time, treasure box, etc. Please know that this plan is fairly and consistently administered.
Students also understand that there are consequences for not following the established expectations; these have been thoroughly explained to them.
1. If a student misbehaves the student will meet with me during recess time to discuss the inappropriate behavior, as well as, strategies to prevent the behavior from recurring. The student will complete a processing form which will detail how the negative behavior impacted his/her learning, the teacher, and other students. This form must be signed by a parent(s) or guardian(s), and returned the following day.
2. If a student consistently misses a portion or all of his/her recess due to misbehavior, a conference call will be made to the parent(s) or guardian(s) to set up a convenient time to meet and discuss the problem.
When parents, students, and educators work collaboratively it fosters a productive and positive learning environment for all.
